Samsung Galaxy S4 release date in India
They say Samsung Galaxy S series are one of the most popular smartphone series all over the world. We agree. We even thing that the Galaxy S series is by far more popular that Apple’s iPhone, but some would not agree with us. That’s no problem!
The first smartphone of the series, the Samsung Galaxy S, was also the first high-end smartphone ever launched by Samsung. It was unveiled in February 2010, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and it was a huge success. It managed to get sold in over 30 million units until this very moment, and that number is still counting!
The second smartphone of the series, the Samsung Galaxy S2, was the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S and came with a new design, improved hardware and also improved software. This device has been launched also at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but this time in 2011. Just like the Samsung Galaxy S, the Samsung Galaxy S2 was also a huge success, as it managed to cross the border of 20 million units sold in less than 6 months. This device came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, got an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and at the end of October 2012 will receive another update to Android 4.1 JellyBean.
The third smartphone of the series, the Samsung Galaxy S3, unlike the other devices previously launched by Samsung, have had it’s unveiling at a special event hosted by the Koreans in order to create buzz around the device and to make it as popular as possible. Just like the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S3 also came with a whole new design, improved hardware (it was the first smartphone ever built by Samsung with a Quad-Core processor and 2 GB of ram) and improved software (it came with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich). This device will receive an update to Android 4.1 JellyBean and managed to get itself sold in over 10 million units in less than 55 days. The Koreans held a press conference on the 6th of September where they announced that the new Galaxy S3 managed to cross the border of 20 million units sold. Specialists say that the S3 will manage to reach over 30 million units sold until the end of 2012.
But, time passes and the whole world started to become more and more interested about the new Samsung Galaxy S4. At this moment, Samsung’s officials deny each and every rumor regarding this new product, in order to increase the popularity and the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Fortunately, The Korean Times, the oldest English-language newspaper in South Korea, has managed to pull out some information regarding the Samsung Galaxy S4 from a bunch of Samsung employees. According to them, Samsung will unveil this new product in February 2013, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This decision surprises us as the Galaxy S3 managed to get sold in so many units that fast with a self-hosted event!
Also, rumors say that the new Galaxy S4 will feature a 5.0-inch display (with 0.2 wider than the Galaxy S3) and that will be the first device to contain the new Cortex A19 Samsung was working on lately. Also, according to the Korea Times, the new device will be available all around the world in March 2013, and again, we don’t think that’s even possible in the case which Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled in March 2012 and went out in May 2012. Fortunately, we are certain that Samsung will start confirming or denying rumors once Samsung Galaxy S3 will reach it’s 30 million units sold target.
